Nei mesi di giugno e luglio, Progetto Giovani organizza un book club in inglese per praticare la lingua in modo informale e divertente, condividendo con altri la passione per la lettura.

Gli incontri sono condotti da Anna, volontaria tedesca del Corpo Europeo di Solidarietà a Progetto Giovani. Il libro scelto per la lettura condivisa è “The midnight library” di Matt Haig.

Gli incontri si svolgono negli spazi del nostro ufficio, al secondo piano del Centro Culturale Altinate San Gaetano, nei seguenti giorni e orari:

  • mercoledì 14 giugno | 16:30-18:00
  • mercoledì 21 giugno | 16:30-18:00
  • mercoledì 28 giugno | 16:30-18:00
  • mercoledì 12 luglio | 16:30-18:00

Gli incontri

Nel corso degli incontri settimanali, i partecipanti hanno modo di entrare nell’affascinante mondo di Nora, la protagonista del libro “The midnight library” di Matt Haig.

Il linguaggio utilizzato nel libro è semplice quindi è sufficiente possedere un livello B1 (intermedio) di conoscenza dell’inglese. Oltre alla lettura collettiva di alcuni punti del libro, sono previste discussioni sulla trama a partire da semplici domande come “Riesci a empatizzare con i personaggi?”, “Cosa faresti al posto di Nora?”, “Ti piacerebbe trascorrere una notte nella biblioteca di mezzanotte?”.

Come partecipare

La partecipazione è gratuita, ma è richiesta la registrazione attraverso il modulo online.

È consigliato portare agli incontri il proprio libro, così da poter continuare a leggere anche durante la settimana. In caso di impossibilità a reperirlo, alcuni brevi estratti saranno forniti nel corso degli appuntamenti.

In June and July, Progetto Giovani organises an English book club to practise the language in an informal and fun way by reading the book “The midnight library” by Matt Haig.

Meetings will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 to 6pm on the following dates: 7, 14, 21, 28 June, 12 and 19 July.

The book club meetings will be held by Anna, a German European Solidarity Corps volunteer at Progetto Giovani. They take place in the Progetto Giovani office, on the second floor of Centro Culturale Altinate San Gaetano. Participation is free, but registration through the online form is required.

The meetings

During the weekly meetings, participants will dive into the fascinating world of Nora, the protagonist of the book “The midnight library” by Matt Haig.

The language used in the book is simple, therefore a B1 (intermediate) level of English is sufficient.
We recommend attending the meetings with your own book so that you can continue reading during the week. If you are unable to find it, some shorts extracts will be provided during the meetings.

In addition to the reading of some parts of the book, the plot will be discussed together with Anna and the other participants, starting from simple questions like “Can you empathize with the characters?”, “What would you do, if you were in Nora’s place?”, “Would you like to spend a night in the midnight library?”.
